Hey, An, check this out!
It's apparently one of the parfaits you can get at carino/carina...
Whoa, that's gigantic!
I mean, just look at all the strawberries... Is it even possible to finish it?
Three of us should be able to if we work together! We should go sometime since it's been going totally viral on TrickTrick!
Hey, Akito!
You free after school today?
No, but why...?
I found this cool shop that I was thinking about checking out! I know you're busy with practice, but we need to hang out more!
(This class is never quiet...)
(I was hoping to do some reading before our long homeroom started, but I won't be able to focus with all this noise...)
*Sigh*
(I guess I'll just listen to some music instead while I wait for the teacher to get here.)
Okay, everyone, take your seats.
Oh, see you guys later!
See you! We'll talk again later.
So, what are we gonna do during the long homeroom today?
Oh, about that.
I have something very important to discuss with you all today.
(Something important...?)
Starting this year, we will be holding an event called the “Kamiyama High School Arts Festival”.
An arts festival?
As you all know, this school prides itself on fostering creativity and freedom of expression. Because of that, we're always receiving and coming up with ideas for new school events.
For this festival, with creativity and cooperation in mind, the students in each class will work together to produce and present an artistic piece.
These presentations will be ranked the day of, and we also plan on inviting a famed figure to serve as a special judge...
Wait, a famed figure...? You're talking about a celebrity, right?! Who are you guys inviting?!
Also, you said, “An artistic piece.”
Can you tell us a little more about that...?
Of course.
There aren't any strict rules to speak of...
As long as you all work together with a spirit of cooperation in mind, you'll basically be free to do whatever you like.
To name a few examples, you could do a play, put on a small concert, make a movie or perform a dance... Producing a sculpture together could also be fun.
(We're free to choose whatever...?)
(A play or a concert... So I might be able to sing? That'd definitely get me interested...)
(But we all have to work together...
Not exactly my strong suit.)
This sounds super fun!!!
Yeah! It's like we get to have another school festival!
(Yeah, I should've known they'd react this way...)
What should we do?
I really wanna make a film together!
Me too!
Making one as a class could be a way to make the most of our youth!
Youth, huh...? I don't know about that, but a film would definitely be memorable since it'll pretty much last forever.
Yeah!
I'm not hearing any other ideas, so let's make a film together!
(A film...?)
(Is it possible for a bunch of amateurs to actually make one...? It sounds like a lot of work...)
Hold on a second...
Making one isn't as easy as you guys are making it sound.
...!
I don't know much about filmmaking, but I'm guessing it's gonna take a lot of time and effort. We should plan things out a little better before we decide.
(Yeah, exactly...!)
Hmm... He has a point.
It might be good for us to appoint a leader, like a director. Someone with experience or who knows a lot about this stuff...
Someone who knows a lot...
Oh!
I know the perfect person!
(The perfect person? Who...?)
Kusanagi!
Could you be our director?!
Huh...?
M-Me...?!
Why...?
You're in the film club, right?
And you perform in shows!
You seem like the right person for the job since you have a ton of knowledge and experience when it comes to films and acting!
Th-Thanks, but...
For the film club, we just watch the movies we have in our room...
Plus, acting for a stage performance and acting in a film are two different things. I really don't know if I could be a director...
Really? But...
Alright, hold your horses!
You're making her panic. We can't just ask her to do this all of a sudden.
Yeah, you're right...
Sorry, Kusanagi. I didn't mean to sound so pushy.
N-No, uh...
That's okay...
But I do think that you're the best choice out of everyone in this class to become the director...
Huh...?
I saw you perform in a show at PXL a little while ago, and I was blown away by how good it was!
You guys come up with those shows all on your own, right? I figured if you know how to make something that amazing, then you'd be able to do the same for our film.
So, you don't have to if you don't want to... But will you at least think about it?
Oh...
(Right.
Some of them have seen our shows.)
(To be fair, I did help come up with a few of those stories, so I might be a little more experienced than everyone else...)
(But I've never made a film before.
Not only that...)
(The director has to get everyone to move as a unit while staying on schedule for production, right?)
(I-I'm supposed to get all these chatterboxes to work as a team...?)
How do you feel, Kusanagi...?
Again, you don't have to if you don't want to.
Y-Yeah, I know...
(But...)
(Opportunities to lead big teams like this don't come around often, so maybe I should accept.)
(Also, I can't be afraid of working with new people...)
(We're gonna be working with other troupes moving forward... And my goal's to become a world-class musical actress.)
I-I'll do it.
It'll be a good experience for me...
So if you're all okay with it, I think I'll take the job...
Really?!
Thanks so much, Kusanagi!
Y-You're welcome...
(W-Well, I just agreed...)
(There's no turning back now...
And if we're making a film, I wanna make it a good one...)
(I-I've gotta do my best.
For the sake of the festival...!)
